I Traded In My Pearls...

for...

No TV.
No cell phones.
No newspapers.
No clocks or watches.
and
No computers.

And instead spent 4 days in the Eastern Sierras in a tent.
With 3 mountain men.
and
4 fishing rods.

Between the smoky laundry and nautical cookies I'm working on this week I'll be posting about an incredible Give-Away I'm hosting with Queen Bea Studios.

Here's a sneak peak...

Did I say it will be incredible and that YOU get to choose?

Incredible!

Stay tuned and have a wonderful Monday!

Hi there Pink Martini -- I found my way over from SITS. I would trade in my pearls any day to have a weekend out in the wilderness! I used to camp all the time as a kid, and I am itching to get back into it! I hope you had a wonderful trip (with few bug bites!)

Wonderful picture of some wonderful boys. Where in the Sierras, if I may ask? We used to spend time every summer up near Bridgeport. It was amazing.

Pink Martini said...

LPC ~ Small world. If you hang a left at Bridgeport and drive through the expansive Hunewell Ranch, we were in a privately owned camping village called Twin Lakes. The valley there is incredibly beautiful. Where did you used to go?

LPC said...

To Hunewill Ranch itself:). For decades. My father still goes. My brother was wondering if he could hold his wedding there. Small world indeed. Twin Lakes is gorgeous.

LPC ~ Thought it might have been as there is little around there. I have also been there but did not stay. We saw a couple 'city slicker' groups in the meadows who seemed to be enjoying themselves. I always thought it may be fun to do for a change particularly in the fall. The drive through the property is one I always enjoy. Have you wanted to return or have you moooved on to greener pastures? *sorry* :)

I bet you have some great tales to share about your camping expeditions. Can hardly wait to hear all about them.
Have a great rest of the day.

I am so impressed with you--I'm thinking (hoping) that California camping in August involves lower humidity and fewer bugs than Carolina camping! Did you do a lot of hiking, canoeing, reading? Time really slows down when we "unplug," which is so lovely.

escaping to the outdoors is so refreshing and relaxing. The only part I never can cope with is the lack of proper bathing!
